On February 16th, we launched our first in-person Unseen STL History talk with Amanda Clark of the Missouri History Museum and myself, Jackie Dana. You can listen to the talk by clicking the button above.
Amanda talked about amazing buildings that once existed in St. Louis but are long gone. Then I gave a brief history of the River Des Peres and the Cheltenham district, which was once an idyllic area with a sulfur spring and resort and then became the center of the clay and brick-making industry.
Although Amanda had slides, they’re part of the Museum’s programming and I’m unable to share them here. My slides are available as a PDF that you can download using the button below.
On March 16th, join us at Spine Bookstore to hear Mark Zeman, who will share tales from his newly published book Historic Tales of St. Louis, and Chris Naffziger, who will be talking about Adam Lemp's Cave in Benton Park and the history of brewing and subterranean lagering caves in St. Louis. (I’ll be sending out more information prior to these talks).
