July’s Unseen STL History talks were amazing. We welcomed Mike Jones and Nathan Jackson, who spoke about the history and redevelopment of Lafayette Square and the lost buildings of Soulard, respectively.
You can listen to the talks by clicking the play button at the top of this post. (Note: I forgot to turn on the recording, so I missed Mike’s introduction at the beginning. Whoops!)

Unseen STL Talks in August - St. Louis Underground
For August, hold onto your hats because we’re going underground! Unseen STL History welcomes Julie Nicolai, whose new book, Enslavement and the Underground Railroad in Missouri and Illinois comes out on July 31st (Amazon). We are also excited to have Amanda Clark return for a talk about all kinds of things you can find under St. Louis — including graves and caves!
This is guaranteed to be a great event, so mark your calendars for August 17th! All of our talks are from 7-9 pm at Spine Indie Bookstore and Cafe, 1976-82 Arsenal St. Doors open at 6 pm so arrive early to get a good seat (and enjoy a lovely handcrafted beverage). And as always, Unseen STL History is free!
