I’m researching an article on St. Louis area amusement parks—Six Flags, Chain of Rocks, the Forest Park Highlands, Holiday Hill, and maybe others. As part of it, it would be great if I could include a few of your stories or photos.

Comment below and tell me what you remember about local amusement parks. Did you have a favorite ride? Did you ride the Screamin’ Eagle over and over, or maybe lose your lunch after a ride on Tom’s Twister? Maybe you liked driving the miniature cars at Holiday Hill? (I did!)
Share any and all memories, even if they aren’t fun ones (for example, my dad remembers watching the roller coaster at the Highlands burn down).
If you prefer, you can send me an email. If you have digital photos, you can also send them via email as well.
No, we moved to Spanish Lake and the birthday visits to Holiday Hill ended. We didn't go to Chain of Rocks park very often, it seems like we had some school picnics there. My memories are pretty fuzzy though. I do remember riding the ski lift over the park.
My wife's dad worked in the evenings at Chain of Rocks park, she said that once she got to go in the Fun House with the lights on before the park opened
HIGHLANDS HAD A TERRIFIC POOL. IT STAYED OPEN FOR A COUPLE YEARS AFTER THE REST OF THEPLACE BURNED IN 1963...
I think I remember reading that. Wasn't Highlands Pool one of the main flashpoints for desegregation?
U GOT ME.
We lived in Berkeley until I was 5 and my family would take me to Holiday Hill on my birthday. That's about all I remember though...
I loved Holiday Hill! Did you leave St. Louis after that? Or do you have memories of Six Flags or anywhere else in the area?
