The last photo of St. James the Greater is of the back of the school building showing the damage from the tornado in February 1959! The front of the building had the same type of damage. When I started kindergarten in Sept. of 1959, the scaffolding was still up and repairs were completed a few months later.
I still wish we had this resource here in Kansas City. But, I am enjoying learning StL history and architecture. Soon I will know more about StL than I do about Kansas City!
Actually, I know that person. She taught our two sons. On FB, she posts a lot or very interesting pieces of history. I approached her about this, knowing she would be great at it. She didn't think she could keep up with all that you do! I'll work on her again...........
