This article is terrific. My son works at these clean up sites. This totally explains the history and the geography. Thanks! I can’t wait for him to read this
While working at RCGA, met Dr. Ardath Emmons, who was with MU and had been involved in nuclear development at Oak Ridge. At the time, he was consulting on the Callaway Nuclear Energy project. He had such interesting stories to share. Wish he was still alive. He was an extremely intelligent and kind individual.
Oh absolutely. There were some federal funds that went to the men who got sick, or their survivors, but of course it doesn't really compensate for getting cancer or dying prematurely.
My whole family has been affected and the worry about the future generations is worrisome. The creek runs a long distance and was a playground for kids and was visited by me more than once. Just living in the area condemned us. My parents bought into the Wedgwood area to give us a better future. Thankfully they died before realizing the effects

That's great, thanks! I hope he likes them. Did he work at the Weldon Spring site at all?

U.S. National Guard units spent weekends at Weldon Springs in the late 1970s and early 1980s
What were they doing there? Were they doing some sort of specialized training? Doing cleanup?

Do not forget the health issues that arose

Oh yes, of course. I’m going to be talking about Coldwater Creek and the other dump sites in future articles.
I worked for Mallinckrodt for 37 years, I left the company in 2020. Your article is very accurate, you did good research!
